What would a month cost?
Past a plan's credits, machines keep going at $0.60 a credit, up to the spending limit you set. So the best plan is the cheapest one that runs enough agents at once.
A machine counts while it works and for the 10 to 15 idle minutes before it sleeps. Asleep, it counts nothing.

Do I need an AI subscription as well?
Yes, at least one. Aldo runs Claude Code on a Claude plan (Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise), Codex on ChatGPT (Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise) and Grok Build on SuperGrok or X Premium+. You sign in once with each provider's own login, and every thread uses it. OpenCode is on every machine too.
What exactly uses credits?
A machine while it runs, by the minute: while its agent works, plus the idle minutes before it goes to sleep (10 to 15; idle machines are checked every 5 minutes). A 2× machine uses 2 credits an hour. Building a ready-to-go environment counts the machine time of the build. A sleeping thread keeps its disk and uses nothing.
What if I run out of credits?
Machines keep going as extra usage at $0.60 a credit, up to your spending limit. Plans start with a $20 limit, and you can set it anywhere up to $1,000 on the Usage page. At the limit, a machine stops once its turn finishes, or mid-turn if the turn runs a credit past the limit.
What does “agents at once” mean?
How many threads' machines can run at the same moment. Threads that are asleep don't count, so you can have as many as you like. Starting one more puts an idle machine to sleep first; if they're all working, try again when one finishes.
Can an agent run up a bill somewhere else?
Only as you allow. The first time an agent is about to spend money outside Aldo (a domain, a paid plan, a new database), it asks how much it may spend without checking with you; above that, it asks each time, and it records every spend. For services billed by usage, it turns on the provider's own spending limit at an amount you approve.
